Every other month I ask myself :
what do I really want to tell you? I don’t want to preach or pretend to
be someone I’m
not. We’re still learning and this is just our second issue. I’m simply
a student trying to build something fruitful with my
team which is equal parts hard work and luck. This letter came to life
during an all nighter I was pulled to get inspired for
the next issue. And everything I saw that night simply reminded me of
people I was inspired by growing up. The feeling of
being inspired by someone transcends borders and languages. It’s a
feeling you carry with you, shape and stay imprinted in
ways you may not even realize. This issue is built around that very idea
. It’s not about people who have inspired us in the
most obvious sense, but taking FLUX and the conversation beyond our
campus gates and celebrating people and stories
that endure. This issue’s Cover star was an unanimous choice. We always
had someone we looked up to or someone who
has inspired us. Daniel was a breath of fresh air for our student
community. Breaking the mould so casually that only in
hindsight his students and our community realised the scale of what he
was doing.
My team said “
Everybody Loves Danny “. There are people and their inspiration who come to
you in unexpected ways
. The same night of my “getting inspired” all-nighter I came across Ananya
Sing, Erin Kim, Rohan, Suryaveer Singh and
many more . I knew it then that there are so many people whose stories needs
to be told by them and I immediately texted
my team : “We have to get these people in our next issue !” Previous issue
was more of a graphic heavy book (something
I was aiming for) but now I feel it’s time for my team and I to mature up to
industry publishing standards; learn and meet
more people. After all Flux is all about the people and youth around us.
With the motivation and inspiration of people
Digital Office presents the biggest issue we’ve worked on. In the pages
ahead you’ll find all these people and thier stories;
from Erin’s approach towards Hyderabad’s culture, our strongest style aces
and their journey with fashion, Suryaveer’s
Hyderabad wine society and how he taught this city to sip, and much more.As
I close, I want to leave you with something
simple that my team taught me during this issue. Out there the world is
broken and discouraging. But it’s also full of those
who choose to do good, choose kindness, collaboration, and building
something valuable together. And in the end, there
are the ones who will go to sleep happy the real win . Because there is very
little joy in rising alone .
